web applications

The team at Qanda is specially geared to fully understand and build web based applications to fully satisfy a client. We have been very successful in developing such software only because of our ability to understand client perspectives, convert them into a user friendly application and deliver something easy to use and to update and control.

A few notable web applications developed are

1) Qanda Reach - This is a comprehensive communication and academic package for schools. Offered under the SAAS model from Qanda, Reach allows parents and teachers to communicate one on one. It also maintains the complete academic records of a student.

The application also integrates the mobile phone platform into it for prompt notifications. Besides the communication modules, this package also offers a library module for schools.

Reach has also automated heavily for CBSE schools in particular. The new CCE (Continuous, Comprehensive Evaluation) method of measuring student performance makes it very time consuming for a teacher to prepare each report card. Reach effectively reduces this effort to a series of clicks resulting in time savings of close to 70 to 80%. We are in the process of rolling this out to schools in India and the Middle East.

2) Multi Level Marketing software - A challenge from a client in Mumbai saw us apply our talents to developing a Binary model MLM software from ground up. All we had as inputs were a series of screens and a brief of the features. Our team with minimal client inputs was able to replicate and improve with added features the clients outdated software. This entire piece is now web based and accessible 24 X 7.

The software is getting launched in phases after successful user testing.

3) Lottery software - An international brand expressed a desire to hold a transparent lucky draw with a live audience consisting of independent evaluators as well as their own team and channel partners.

A draw had to be conducted from a database of quarter of a million entries. Our team developed a web based application with total flexibility for the client. The draw was transparently displayed on the front end and regular tabs kept on the database. Each prize had a different set of members eligible for the draw, so we did a database design to suit the need.

At each point, the external observers were free to cross check drawn numbers and take hard copy print outs for verification and sign off. Since the draw was conducted using dummy data, the dummy data and actual fields were correlated for determine final prize winners.

The client continues to use this application across various centers in the country right now, using their own IT team, with minimal involvement from us.

4) Restaurant Menu application - A seafood restaurant in Bangalore came up with the requirement of a dynamic menu to be displayed to diners using an Android tablet. They demanded and were delivered a package with total flexibility to add, delete or make inactive menu items depending on the catch of the day. A wine list was also integrated.

Multiple diners at the same table could order using multiple tablets and they would be consolidated into one single order for the kitchen. The steward could narrate the order as well as modify or cancel items from within the same order. When the order was finalized an online bill is generated and sent to the server for print out. From a web based application, this was further converted into a native Android app for the tablet.

5) Flash based quiz: A leading consumer durable brand was looking for an interactive solution to interest potential buyers during a roadshow. An interactive quiz was developed that could be played on a stand alone TV/DVD system. Since it had to play off optical disk, the game was developed using Flash and Action Scripting. The quiz questions also had multiple databases to select from in order to avoid repeat questions and fatigue for players.

Players could also avail of lifelines much like "Who wants to be a Millionaire" on global television. Qualified leads from the roadshow showed a healthy 25% increase from previous instances.

Our expertise in taking a client brief and delivering a totally user friendly client application has grown exponentially since we started. today Team Qanda is fully equipped to develop custom web applications to suit any domain and any need. We look forward to an opportunity to bring the benefits of the web to more valued clients.
